This summer I was fortunate enough to tag along with some of the raddest video guys in the world to Kaua'i to shoot Colbie Caillat's music video for 'The Little Things' from her album Coco.I shot behind-the-scenes photographs and got another chance to jump off of things into ponds. Could I make that a career? Jumping off of waterfalls and the like in music videos?Watch this if you haven't already:

Aloha friends.
Spent last Saturday searching for shells I could use to make creations. The past two weeks have been fabulous to say the least! My soul sista Shea was visiting O'ahu and stayed in our humble abode. We had hilarious times pretending we were black girls with attitude (in my dreams), sending everyone we knew video comments via facebook (add me!), playing hysterically in the shorepound at Waimea on a frigid day, surfing amazing Chuns, creeping on passersby during daily Starbucks missions, and cleaning my nasty back cut everyday!

Shea, I'm not gonna lie, you kind of look like a homeless person here.

Yep and there's my nasty back cut via Chuns low tide.

On a lighter note, I shot for BoomBoom Bikini the other day...their suits are adorable!
I die for them. I die. Must have. Must have.
(that was my really bad impression of Rachel Zoe. O well.)

Such a FABULOUS day with the ragamuffins.
When I get together with girls of common interest I am ecstatic to say the least. I couldn't have asked for a better 9th day of October. Not only did I get to spend two outstanding hours picking avocados in paradise with two lovely ladies, but I also washed my car which was much needed!

So my friend Brook lives in this pirate ship of a house that is full of adventure. Her dad made this rad peace-shaped window in their tree house.

This is crazy Uncle Albert. He is so adorable.

Our mission for the day was to pick as many avocados as could fit in Natasha's Element.

This avo-picker was literally 30 feet long. Only skilled ragamuffins could master it.

Fairy Brook used her long legs to climb all throughout the tree.

But she was really good at using the picker too.

They were pretty big and ready to be sold!

One load being taken to the car...

That's wassup.

I'm going to make a wretched, wretched confession.
T.V. is taking over my life. And surprisingly instead of feeling like I've lost brain cells, I feel I've gained some! Eureka!
I haven't owned a T.V. in some 5 years, and now I'm just trying to catch up on about 6 of my favorite shows. They include: Pushing Daisies, Grey's Anatomy, Project Runway, ANTM, Entourage, and my newly found love, Gossip Girl (GASSSSP!). I'm a product of America's entertainment industry's ability to intrigue and captivate viewers by any means necessary. Ashamed am I? Yes and no. I love television these days ... it's like watching mini movies every week!

(And don't even get me started about how madly in love I fell when learning that Ed Westwick a.k.a. Chuck Bass was British. Heh.)

Looking back, I have to say I am grateful that Gossip Girl, Myspace, America's Next Top Model, and the like were nonexistent in my adolescence. I would probably have turned out a much different person. When did society start portraying VAIN as GOOD? I'm still a little confused and I feel in the middle of it all somehow. Twenty-three isn't quite as youthful as seventeen is -- yet isn't as mature as thirty. I just find it all very interesting, it could be a great term paper. Thank God I'm no longer in school.

Aside from exciting television in my life, I'm starting a new job in a week. My prayers were answered! Wooooo, thank you GOD! I'm ecstatic, but does it mean I can no longer be a stay-at-home-freelance-bum?! Devastating!

Today Adele's tunes, old journals, and Urban Outfitters catalogs got me in the mood. I was thinkin', "Brooke, you need to get your hands dirty." I've been so dependent on my Mac that I've somehow forgotten the pleasure and the reward of doing things by hand. I'm ashamed of myself.

I sat in our shoppe today alone and thanked God for a creative space. I read old entries today and noticed that even a year ago I was wiser and much more in touch.
"GOD, INSPIRE ME THROUGH THE MUNDANE."
Today I was touched by that. I was glad that 18 months ago, I said that.

Look at what fun Natasha and I had at Kahana Bay and China Man's Hat some time ago. Really, I need more woman time. More time to tell secrets, drink tea, and laugh together. I miss my girlfriends terribly.

Looking forward to being more forward in my entries.
There is a certain satisfaction in being transparent. What is it?

1. Sucked at Stand-Up Surfing this morning @ Ehukai. But God blessed us with an incredible rainbow and fun waves.

2. Filmed this lil vid for Crush with Peter King himself:

5. Watched the newest episode of JDMA while grinding pizza.

6. Now going to enjoy catching some ZzzzzZZzzZZz's before going to the swap meet early tomorrow morning! Cheee.
